How to Make Custom Coasters
Ready to make your own printed coasters? Head to the Graphic Designer and choose a blank canvas with a 1:1 aspect ratio (a perfect square). Then, just follow these 3 steps below!
Step 1: Add a Circle Graphic
Zazzle offers a variety of coaster shapes to choose from, but for this tutorial, we’ll be creating a circle coaster. Because of this, we’re placing a circle graphic on our canvas, allowing us to fill it with our design.
Navigate to Graphics on the left, then double-click the circle underneath Shapes. Click and drag its corners to make the circle larger, until it fills the entire canvas.
Step 2: Add Your Coaster Design
Here comes the fun part: your coaster design. We will add a photo and overlay it with some text for this example.
Navigate to Image Manager on the left, then click Computer to upload an image from your files. Next, drag and drop that image onto your circle to fill the entire shape.
We want to add an artistic vibe to our photo, so we’re going to be adding an Artsy effect to it. To do this to your image, select it, then click Edit Image from the Image Properties panel that appears.
Now that you’re working on your image in the Photo Editor, you can click Artsy on the left and select any category that takes your fancy. We’re using the Watercolor GFX effect, which is available within the GFX Series.
Apply your desired effects, then click Done Editing Image in the top-left of the screen to return to your project.
Want to add text to your coaster design? You can do this by clicking on Text on the left. Then, select a text swatch or click Add Text to add a new text box.
Double-click the text box and type in what you’d like it to say. You’ll also notice when you select a text box, a Text Properties panel appears. From here, you can customize your text’s font, color, alignment, and so much more. We’ve also added a curved effect to our text, as shown.
Step 3: Save and Print Your Coaster Pack
Finally, all that’s left to do is to save your coaster design. Click Save at the top of the screen, followed by Print Products.
Then, just follow the prompts to print your design as a coaster.
